Liz here, the creator of Elephant Step. I’m a 23 year old university graduate, current grad student in London, with an urge to see (and eat) the world! This is a space for me to share my experiences, and foodie creations.
My interest in blogging first started when I was around 17. I had a few different kinds of blogs that focused on things like baking, life experiences, and Ellen Degeneres, but I never really had the time to make them what I wanted. So, here I go again. I’ve been telling myself for the last few years that once I graduated University I would give it the old college try (heh). Here I am! Twenty-three years old, Bachelor’s Degree complete, currently doing a Master of Science in Clinical Nutrition, and still trying to figure out what I want to do with my life.
That’s me, donned in cap and gown, smiling after spending four and a half years and $60,000 to achieve a BS (lol) in Culinology. Never heard of Culinology? Not surprised. It’s not offered at too many institutions. Culinology is basically a mash-up of Food Science, Nutrition, and Culinary Arts. The science of cooking, and what it does to your body. It’s kind of neat that we are a little farther and fewer between than your average Food Scientist, but because our curriculum was so broad we aren’t exactly experts in anything. We need a Masters Degree for that.
Why “Elephant Step”? I believe in taking risks. I believe in following your dreams. I believe in taking big leaps in life. So that’s what I’m doing. Moving to London, and starting this blog are my “Elephant Steps.”
